Sound At Home programme continues into its 10th week!
Back at the start of the year, little did we know that just a few weeks later, the world would be changing in such a way that we’d be pausing Sound Pop Academy through until September 2020… along with all of all of our gigs, activities, workshops and events.
(Insert Sad Face Here) 😢
One thing we wanted to ensure was that members kept a piece of Sound Pop Academy in their hearts during the uncertain time and we wanted to give our members something to focus on. Something positive, something familiar…
Our Sound At Home programme has been running now for ten weeks and due to its popularity with members, we’ll be continuing the programme through into June.
Our Sound At Home programme is obviously different to our academy sessions, which we all miss so, so much. But the opportunity to ‘Sing with Jayne’ or ‘Dance with Mike’ each week, keeps many of members going and keeps that spark alive, meaning that when we do reunite once again, it will be extra special knowing that we’ve all been through the past few months together – a team and a family.
Some other activities that we’ve run since being confined within our four walls have been the popular ‘Sound Pop Academy Radio’, which was hosted by Dan. And ‘Games with Kerry’ – who’d have thought the home could become a giant games room?!
As Sophie, our Southampton members says, “It feels like forever since we have all been together on stage. The sound pop team have been working so hard to keep us learning new songs at home. But I can’t wait until I can Sing with Jayne for real again!! ♥”
We’ve loved seeing our members engage with the content we’ve been sending out each week, but what we’re most excited for is getting back to some kind of ‘normal’. Regular weekly rehearsals, performing at different events and seeing our friends. That day will come again soon…
Some of our members recorded ‘Keep Your Head Up’ back in March and the message is still so true. Stay positive, smile and look forward to that reunion party! It’s happening!
We’re currently accepting trial requests for September, so if your child is looking to join us, then submit a trial form and one of the team will be in touch.
We run incredible public workshops throughout the year for young people aged 5-17! Tickets for our public workshops tend to go quickly, so be sure to keep checking back for new events if we’re sold out.
