We are very excited to be moving our HQ to Mayflower Studios (MAST), right in the heart of Southampton’s Cultural Quarter.
Operating Sound Pop Academy from MAST will provide greater opportunities for all of our members, across all of our academies.
Director, Dan Cooper, says: ‘I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be working in such a collaborative space. To have office space and a professional partnership with such a great venue is going to be a really positive step forward for Sound Pop Academy. Aside from the obvious, it also means we can host meetings and deliver ongoing training for our leaders in an awesome location.’
Director, Mike Evans, says: ‘When we launched Sound Pop Academy in 2018, our primary aim was to get more young people singing and performing in a contemporary, fresh and exciting way. We’ve enjoyed welcoming hundreds of young people through our doors and have performed to thousands of people since then however, it’s now time to turn up the heat! We want to reach even more kids, perform in bigger shows and get more young people performing across the south. Partnering with MAST will allow us to continue this work and we’re very excited for Sound Pop Academy’s next chapter.’
Academy Leader & Training Manager, Jayne Glynn, says: ‘I am so excited to be involved with MAST. Not only will this provide an opportunity to grow Sound Pop Academy but it will also help to build relationships with other arts organisations. I am looking forward to building professional connections to further the opportunities for our members and future members so that we get as many children singing as possible.’
As well as our normal offering, we look forward to welcoming your child to a Sound Pop Academy workshop, event or performance at MAST in the very near future.
We run incredible public workshops throughout the year for young people aged 7-17! Tickets for our public workshops tend to go quickly, so be sure to keep checking back for new events if we’re sold out.
