Visitors to our website are required to accept the following terms and conditions in return for the information given to them on this website.

  • We use our reasonable efforts to include accurate and up to date information on all pages of our website. Information is for guidance only and is not intended to form any part of a contract and can be subject to change without notice. We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or cumulative losses or damages arising out of the use or inability to use these pages, any errors, misrepresentations or omissions on the material contained on them.
  • The information on the pages of this website has been prepared with reasonable care and is believed by us to be legal, honest, decent and truthful as of the date of its preparation.

Terms & Conditions of Engagement in Bespoke Workshops, Classes & Events

Any young person (aged 17 and under) who wishes to engage with and join a Sound Pop Academy workshop, class or event should seek their parents or guardians permission prior to enrolling in and/or paying for their place.

By ticking the box titled ‘I have read and agree with your terms and conditions’ both you and your child (the “participant”) are confirming that you have read and fully agree to the following information in this document, which acts as our terms and conditions of engagement as well as expectations of behaviour from the participant throughout their time with us.

You also confirm that you are medically fit to take part in all activities within Sound Pop Academy and you will provide access, allergy, medical, next of kin and any other relevant information prior to attending your first session with us. You also agree to keep us informed of any changes to these details.

Definition
A workshop, class or event is activity that is run by Sound Pop Academy but is not connected to Sound Pop Academy’s main membership offering. These could be, but not limited to, paid for or free workshops, trips and/or social events that fall under the Sound Pop Academy umbrella and where anyone within the specific age range required can participate, regardless of Sound Pop Academy membership status.

Bookings

  • Workshops, classes and events will differ in terms of price, length of course, running time and content.
  • Bookings must be made in advanced and all participants will need to complete a participation/enrolment form to attend. We are unable to accept anyone onto a workshop, class or event if these forms have not been completed, regardless to whether payment has been made.
  • Your personal data is important to us and so where possible, we will use our website (www.soundpopacademy.co.uk) to collect data to understand more about you and/or the participant.  Occasionally we may need to use third party websites to collect payment, next of kin data, participant data or other information. When necessary, we will use what we deem as being trusted websites however Sound Pop Academy cannot be responsible for any breach of data on any third party platform. Please seek the relevant websites data protection and GDPR policy for specific details.
  • Admission fees to access our workshops, classes and events may differ over a period of time. Dependant on the popularity of the workshop, class or event, we may sell tickets via a dynamic pricing method. This means the price can increase or decrease depending on the popularity and needs of the workshop. For popular workshops, ticket fees may increase to ensure we have suitable ratios of staff:child and materials. We would always advise to book as soon as possible to get the best rates. We reserve the right to increase or decrease admission to workshop, classes and events at any time. No refunds can be made for the difference in ticket pricing. 

Media Consent

  • Sound Pop Academy is an academy that loves to feature and showcase its members and participants. Lot’s of what we do include showcasing members and participants in print, video, online, live streams, on social media and in our marketing materials. You agree that by sending your child to a Sound Pop Academy workshop, event, class, trip or social, we have the right to photograph and record your child and use these images and recordings for marketing and promotional purposes. Photos and recordings of your child may be used online, in social media, in print, in news articles and on other media platforms. Should you prefer to opt your child out from media consent, please email us at hello@soundpopacademy.co.uk, prior to making payment for your child to attend.
  • All media taken by or for Sound Pop Academy belongs solely to Sound Pop Academy.
  • You understand that whilst we have a strong Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and put measures in place when necessary, we are unable to prevent third parties from taking photographs or recordings of your child whilst in a public space, such as external performances, shows, socials and events. 

Workshop, Classes or Events

  • At Sound Pop Academy, we hold safe and productive sessions.
  • We’re aware that other groups are really eager to find out the secret ingredients of what we do, which is why we try to keep all the materials, harmonies and big ideas close to our chest. We’d appreciate if members could respect this and not pass on any Sound Pop Academy information to any other groups or companies… no matter how much they offer to pay!
  • Sound Pop Academy is a contemporary group. Therefore we learn contemporary pop songs and music which is in the charts right now. We will never learn songs that we perceive as being too ‘mature’ for the age group being taught. We will never learn a song that wouldn’t be played on the radio during the day. You agree to Sound Pop Academy’s music/song choices.
  • Workshops, classes and events are for Sound Pop Academy participants only. We wish to keep this exclusivity and therefore non-members (including parents, siblings, granny’s and dogs) cannot attend.
  • We cannot be held responsible for any property left after a session, although we will try to return any property found to the owner.
  • If a workshop, class or event is cancelled due to what we deem ‘extreme weather conditions’ and/or other circumstances out of our control, it is down to Sound Pop Academy to determine what is deemed as being refundable. 

Performances (including show-backs)

  • Participants may be required to purchase their own performance costume and/or accessories.
  • Workshops, classes and events may come with additional fees to cover the cost of the planned activity, such as but not limited to; tickets to shows and trips, travel or food and drink. Participants will be well-advised about these extra fees, should they relate to your booking.

Other Activity

  • Sound Pop Academy’s main membership is not included within the enrolment of a bespoke workshop, class or event.
  • Access to Sound Pop Academy’s membership area remains solely for the use of paying monthly members and is not accessible to those who take part in other activity arranged by Sound Pop Academy.

Nuts & Energy Drinks

  • Sound Pop Academy is a NUT FREE ZONE. No nuts of any shape, size or variety can be brought to sessions, socials of events. We have participants who are severely allergic to nut products. Save your Snickers for home.
  • Energy drinks are not permitted at Sound Pop Academy.

Drugs, Tobacco & Alcohol

  • Under no circumstances will we tolerate the use of drugs, tobacco or alcohol by members at Sound Pop Academy sessions, events, workshops, classes or performances. The legal age to smoke and drink in the United Kingdom is 18 and over. Any member found or believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or found to be smoking whilst representing Sound Pop Academy, will have their membership terminated immediately and their parent or guardian called. 

Access

Sound Pop Academy is proud to be accessible and open to all young people who wish to participate in the arts. For participants who require additional assistance in order to access Sound Pop Academy’s workshop, classes or events, including but not limited to those who may consider themselves disabled for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010, a carer must be present at all times whose job it is to care for and look after the relevant young person. Sound Pop Academy strives to ensure that it offers a fair experience to all participants, but can not be held responsible should a Sound Pop Academy workshop, class or event not be fully accessible. Participant Behaviour and Expectations

At Sound Pop Academy, we strive to provide all young people with a life changing experience, that will allow them to gain experience in music, performance and grow in confidence. We strive to continually provide a premium service and our staff, leaders, assistants, volunteers and other member of the team deserve the respect and cooperation to be able to provide this service.

We will not tolerate any young person or participant who is disrespectful or not obeying an instruction given by the Sound Pop Academy staff team, because that’s not cool. By agreeing to these terms and conditions and by engaging in a Sound Pop Academy workshop, class or event, you agree that if you/your child is guilty of any of the following behaviours they will be removed from the Sound Pop Academy activity:

  • Behaving in a manner which puts either themselves or another person in the building at risk
  • Guilty of causing harm either physically or emotionally to another person
  • Guilty of causing damage to the building or any of its fixtures or fittings
  • Guilty of causing damage to property that does not belong to them this can include personal items belonging to other participants, property belonging to Sound Pop Academy or our local partners, or items that have been hired or borrowed
  • Failure to follow the instructions given by a member of the Sound Pop Academy team
  • Continued failure to change behaviour following continued requests to do so
  • Any behaviour which can be deemed to be gross misconduct

Refund Policy

  • For the relevance of these terms and conditions, once payment has been processed, refunds or exchanges are not permitted unless the workshop, class or event is cancelled or rescheduled to another date and time, of more than 1 hour of the original date and time.
  • Tickets for our workshops, classes or events may be transferred to another person up until 48 hours before the workshop is due to take place, free of charge. Changes can not be made 48 before the start time of the workshop, class or event.
  • In rare circumstances (determined by Sound Pop Academy) where we are able to issue a refund which is outside of the above terms, a 25% admin fee will be deducted, meaning you will receive 75% of the ticket face value. Refunds take 3-5 working days to process and funds will be returned via the original payment method.

General Information

Please note Sound Pop Academy reserve the right to update ‘Terms & Conditions’ at any time. Participants will be notified, and will remain bound to the agreement unless they decide to opt out.
