WOWZAS! Half term is nearly upon us which means it has been 6 weeks since we returned to sessions and regained a little bit of normality in our lives. Our favourite part of the year so far has been reuniting with our members. It has been great to see our members in person rather than through a screen. Whilst running sessions online definitely served its purpose, there’s nothing better than hearing the voices of our members and feeling the energy in the rehearsal room as we rehearse old material and start learning new songs, in preparation for some of the hopeful performances we have pencilled (and booked!) for 2021.
In August, we were a little apprehensive to say the least. We simply didn’t know what response we’d have to members returning. Would there still be a Sound Pop Academy? Would members feel safer at home? We have seen 97% of our members return to sessions across all 4 academy locations. This is testament of their dedication to Sound Pop Academy and proof of the safe community Sound Pop Academy has created over the last 2 years.
Since returning, our Southampton and Hedge End academies remain full. The next available session for trial members is in January 2021! Portsmouth and Winchester have continued to welcome new members each week.
If your child has an interest in performing, singing, dance or if they simply want to participate in a safe, creative and welcoming performing arts group, then submit a trial request for them today. We feel that the arts are needed more than ever as a positive outlet and distraction from what’s going on across the world at the moment.
We are still receiving lots of interest about our academies in Basingstoke, Bournemouth, Waterside and on the Isle of Wight. Unfortunately, at this time (because of the pandemic), we’re unable to progress with these launches in 2020. As you can image, we have been set back a little and our focus remains on the safety of our current academies however, we are working towards a 2021 launch for these locations. Sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with progress or register your child’s interest by clicking on the link HERE.
We run incredible public workshops throughout the year for young people aged 7-17! Tickets for our public workshops tend to go quickly, so be sure to keep checking back for new events if we’re sold out.
